Step Forth for 2024 - Results and evaluation

Thank you to everyone who took part in this year’s competition which took place from Monday 15th January ’24 to Sunday 11th February ’24.

Approximately 1,700 staff took part in over 350 teams.  This is around 10% of all NHS Grampian staff: brilliant!

There were 529,887,828 steps in total over the 4 weeks which is magnificent considering the snow and the rain.

Winners: Debbie’s Delights

5 Fitbits were generously donated by Paths for All. A prize draw was held for these at the end of the challenge.  Every participant who logged steps every week of the competition was entered into the draw.

Winners:

  • Karin Howard
  • Dawn Bannister
  • Sabina Duffy
  • Claire Power
  • Gina Littlejohn

Congratulations also goes to the winners of the weekly competitions, for example the Bingo Challenge.  Prizes were a water bottle, tote bag and note book for each team member, again generously supplied by Paths for All, Scotland’s walking charity.

End of Challenge evaluation

A summary can be viewed here.  Thanks to everyone who completed the evaluation.

If you would like to see the evaluation in detail please email gram.activetravel@nhs.scot

Paths for All and Stirling University conducted research on the Challenge with around 500 NHS Grampian staff.   Thank you to everyone who volunteered for this.  The results will be published here when they become available.

I will also conduct a short evaluation after 3 months from the end of the Challenge
