Spiritual Care / Chaplaincy
CHAPLAINCY DEPARTMENT SUPPORT FOR STAFF DURING COVID 19
In accordance with the Spiritual Care Policy of NHS Grampian the Chaplaincy department has always offered staff support to NHS Grampian and its partners at any time. This support is especially available during the current Pandemic.
Spiritual Care is part of the holistic care which should be offered to patients, their relatives and carers and staff. This care is offered and available to those with or without specified religious beliefs. The Spiritual Care/Chaplaincy department will provide spiritual support to staff that they might better manage their own wellbeing and resilience. Chaplains are available across all the main hospital sites and can be contacted via the main office at ARI.
The support is confidential and independent of line management structures. Chaplains are skilled listeners who can assist you in reflecting on the circumstances you have found yourself in, change how you see things and help you with coping strategies.
Religion will not be spoken about, unless raised by you.
Spiritual Care and Chaplaincy Department offer:
- Community Chaplaincy Listening (CCL) - available at a number of hospitals and community sites across Grampian. Staff, patients’ relatives and carers can self refer. CCL offers a confidential space allowing those who access it to reflect on their situation, talk about what troubles them whilst building resilience and improving wellbeing. Further information can be found at:www.nhsgrampian.org/commchaplist
- Staff support is also available in all hospitals as follows:
- 1-2-1 - formal and informal, drop in, ad hoc support and listening ear
- Values Based Reflective Practice (VBRP) - offers opportunities for groups of staff to meet and reflect on their practice. Sessions are led by a trained and registered facilitator
- Managers can access debrief support following adverse events
